The actual run up to the 200 meter timing traps is 5 miles. It does get very warm inside once all the covers are in place but not unbearably so. After the traps is a mile to allow the bike to slow down before the catch area.

Nor is it supposed to be. These bikes are made specifically to set human powered speed records although a few of the slower ones(50 to 60mph) are streetable and able to self launch and stop.
