Otherwise I'd say wait for the 2014 Honda Fit hybrid. It claims 86 mpg even though its power and acceleration put current hybrids to shame. The Atkinson cycle engine and separate electric motor paired to a double clutch gearbox, allowing them to operate different gears at the same time makes for that.
