Just thought I'd finish up this thread. A while back I sold the Paseo. It was a great car and I'll miss it, but I just didn't need it.
The best fuel mileage I ever got in the Paseo was a very nice 71.2 mpg in the summer of 2009. I averaged 49.6 mpg over the course that I was tracking my mileage from 2007 to 2012.

I didn't get to do a lot of the mods I would have liked to do with the Paseo. Mainly, I would have liked to try out the EGR mod I had planned, regear it for lower cruising rpms, and get the automatic start/stop working. I hope to try these out with my 1993 Tercel that is sitting awaiting for a new fuel pump, fuel tank, and some brake work. When I get started on that I'll start up a garage entry and a build thread for it.
