Honda Gurus - What trans is in my car?
I picked up a '97 Civic DX coupe. It hasn't had an easy life, from the looks of it has a 1.6 from the wreckers out of a 2000 Civic (that's what was in grease pencil on the valve cover), but the trans is much greasier than the engine, so I am thinking it might still be original. The only thing is it feels way more peppier than my '98 DX did, and makes my '90 CX feel like I am starting off in second gear. It revs through 1st and 2nd like an Si. Can someone figure out from some rough data if it's a DX or an Si trans?
Tire size 185/65/14 = 23.46 inch diameter.
2000 RPM in 4th = 60 km/h
2000 RPM in 5th = 72 ish km/h
