We went with a Toyota Tacoma V6 extended cab to supplement the Honda Accord. The spouse is a Master Gardener and hauls people and their plants and tools to work areas and meetings usually within a 50 mile radius, although there have been some long trips to conferences as well. I can guarantee that she won't haul plants in the Accord.
We put a standard Leer cap on the bed to protect the plants.
