I bought a base 1990 Festiva (5 speed) new with absolutely no options on it. I had to install an antenna and stereo to make long trips bearable. If I remember correctly, I got about 38 mpg around town and 42 mpg during interstate cruising. Fairly comfy and smooth for the size, although it bore an eerie resemblance to the family car in "Calvin and Hobbes". Nice car for the price! Good luck fixing up yours, bhazard!
