Lets talk about some cool stuff first.... My wife is suppose to be getting me another Scan Gauge II for christmas.... Should have NEVER gotten rid of my first one.
Also I finally got rid of my steelies and old dying tires and got me some rims and new tires from craigslist for a STEAL $160. I figured the rims would be alot lighter than steelies but they are 18lbs (according to website) and I always head steelies were around 18 pounds (awww ) But They ARE 4.0% taller so I should be getting better MPG

The BAD: the publix beside my work has been doing construction lately and I had FIVE nails in my old tires (I kept plugging them) I finally got these new tires and got THREE new nails in my tires today I plugged all of them but it is driving me crazy, messing up my MPG with constant flat tires. What could I possibly do to fix this?
Also, how do I fix my mpg with the 4.0% taller tires? is it M (miles on tank) Mx0.04=B then M+B= actual miles?

I would suggest driving around or on another road to miss that construction site. Also you could consider mounting high powered magnets under your car front of the wheels close to the nose, to catch the nails before they get into your tires. I know you used to be able to buy a readymade item for that purpose from harbor/northern, but I suspect it would only work good at lower speeds, so you couldn’t go speeding past the construction site.
I don’t know if you are talking about a scan gauge setting or just figuring out your actual mileage, but my tires are also 4% tall, after each tank I just type my mileage into a calculator, and multiply by 1.04, which gives me the correct actual mileage. Same calculation you are doing, just saves some typing.
