As far as I can tell, the engine is still very much the same, just modernized a bit. I think mine has a vacuum controlled air intake thermostat, because I later found the disconnected vacuum port. Hopefully that is one problem solved.

I hope the alternator is the same situation on mine, that would be excellent!.
