I just got my '93 toyota truck (4cyl 5-speed manual) so I don't have really good numbers for my MPG, but I got on a trip to upstate New York I averaged 25.5 mpg@ 70 mph, and 26.5 in the mountains never exceeding 55 (except coasting down hill). But I got all this with 4 people and a bed full of luggage, food, and materials for a rental house my family owns.
What I'm trying to say is that 30 mpg for a 4cyl truck isn't impossible but I think 35 is stretching it without some aero mods.
