Congrats on making though your youth, as did I.

For reference for some of our younger readers, 115-130 mph in the older cars was so death defying because of the soft floating suspensions and things like leaf springs which could heave and sway.

I will say that of era, the extra weighty feeling and solidity of the GM products verses the offerings from Ford were different.

Ford feeling more nimble and edgy, GM feeling more solid or substantial.

I think Chrysler was somewhere in between if I recall correctly.
