I have no idea about the amsoil really, I haven't driven it any other way. I got it so cheap cause the wheel bearing was so loud the previous owner thought the trans was going out, I towed it all but a few hundred yards to the shop to fix the bearing and dealt with the trans fluid then. It's certainly thinner than the specified 75w90.

I am curious though, the EPA rating for this car is stupid, like 21/29. My worst tank was 27, and that included letting it idle to warm up a couple times, driving in snow and zero highway driving, no instrumentation, basically just driving it like a normal person. Where do they come up with those numbers? It's a 2500 lb car with a 1.8l engine and a 5 speed, not a subaru!

I'd love a block heater but I live in an apartment and I'm not sure how to work it.
