Added improved image of streamlined automobile
Gilkison published working drawings before I had an opportunity to clean them up and scan for fidelity.
I've had Al scan a cleanup of the streamlined passenger car intended for the article.
It's based upon the 2nd version of the Aerodynamic Streamlining Template, with 'faster' roofline.
I added lights, reflectors, cooling system side extractors, side cameras, different door handles, converted it to a 'suicide-door' 4-door sedan, and modified the region beyond the taillights to reflect the 'extensible' portion of the boat tail which would be stowed for urban driving.
The fuel filler is disguised behind a rearward faux quarter window flip-out panel.
Again,as we mentioned in the article, the forebody of the car is open to creative license as it is the least important aspect of the cars design.
One should not stray too far from the aft-body contour,as it is key to the attached flow and pressure recovery.
I placed the image at the top of the thread at #1 permalink.
