I have heard "Inboard Brakes are not allowed by certain Motor Vehicle Agencies, as the axle is now a braking member. Hard to figure, if an axle can propel the vehicle, it "should" be able to stop it too. Of course if it fails on acceleration, no big deal, failure during heavy braking...
I guess Edison did not build a production ready car...Oh well.
