Mostly, what killed Hummer was the absence of Diesel versions for the H2 and H3, in spite of a few Diesel-powered H3 prototypes assembled in South Africa. Well, the H3 is actually not so bigger than the Wrangler, which still has Diesel versions for export. Regarding gassers, eventually the turbocharged 2.0L Ecotec could also be a decent option for the H3 in markets where vehicles are taxed according to their displacement.
Saab was killed when the opportunity to use the brand as a billboard for innovative features became wasted.
