Point taken, but that might be more akin to comparing a 2013 Porsche Panamera to a 1963 Porsche 911.
With many cars's cross sections getting larger (both wider and taller) over time (+ people getting fatter and fatter), the Cd will be increasingly important as the area "A" continues to rise.
