The problem with most of the techniques that we get the most out of are advanced techniques, which require the driver to have experience and a useable brain. Most motorists, which is who AAA's audience is, don't have these, or use them while driving. I don't mean to be insulting, but I'm drawing from personal daily experience
Also, if AAA tells people to EOC, draft, etc, then someone is going to get into an accident and blame their advice. They can't do that and not get sued.
My problem is that non-hypermilers tailgate constantly, but we get singled out for doing it.
I wonder if the reason that we're getting all of this backlash is that we're bad for the economy: less accidents, speeding tickets, fuel usage, brake wear...
