One full year of hypermiling the White Gnat

I look back at my fuel logs, and it's now been over a year since I permanently got the 'Gnat back and got serious about it's fuel economy. And though I'm a little unhappy about my 53+/- mpg tanks I've been getting during the winter months, when I look back at that first tank of 24.91 and the next couple in the 30's, I'm glad. ....I don't anticipate getting under 50 again, ever.

And I'm expecting 2014 to be better yet. In the works are a warm air intake I'm about halfway finished on and that I hope to have in operation while it's still cold, and also a kamm-back that I'm also about halfway finished on that was forced into suspension by the weather becoming too cold overnight to cure epoxy resins. Also planned are a fuel injector shut-off swith and a hand throttle "redneck cruise control".

With these mods installed, I would like to try at least one maximum effort run to see if I can get a 70 mpg tank, and also see if I can realize my original goal of "55/55", which means 55 mpg at 55 mph.
