Yes, my Cummins with the rotary Bosch VE injection pump is rather low tech compared to any common rail injected engine, but it's what I have and the price was right. 160hp and 400 ft/lbs may not compare well with new trucks, but it does it's job just fine. I would rather have the P7100 injection pump and lockup transmission as installed in the 1994-1998 models, but it is what it is. It is intercooled as are all the 1991.5+ trucks so no worries there. I will likely only put a few thousand miles on the truck annually so any investments in economy are likely to be small. I still have to catch up on deferred maintenance. I have replaced the center link and idler arm and will go for an alignment soon. My second fuel log entry will be coming soon. Not much high efficiency driving there. Mostly slogging through traffic and a little trailer towing.
