The flammability of flatulence is a bit of an urban legend...
Nonetheless, today in Rasdorf, Hessen, Germany the 'urban legend' caused an explosion in a cow shed. That page is written in Dutch but Google Translate does a fine job on it:
Quote:
Blowtorch [caused by] windy cows in Germany
About ninety windy cows have caused an explosion in Germany. The roof of the shed was damaged and one of the cows suffered minor burns in the fire.
The methane gas from cows had accumulated in high concentrations in [a] dairy farm [stable] in Rasdorf, in the eastern state of Hesse[n].
[The lot] probably caught fire due to static electricity from a massage machine in the [stable].
