The EPA Highway testing would indicate a more conservative savings that just straight,long duration highway driving.
The old school values are:
*10% delta CdA = 5% mpg @ 55-mph
*10% delta CdA = 6% mpg @ 70-mph
*I suspect that the 10% = 2.5% is actually for the Urban cycle.Journalists have reported things like this so many times in the past, so as to make readers/consumers believe that aero drag is essentially inconsequential.And without a rebuttal,they may go on believing it for the rest of time.
