That's not what we are saying. You speak of a series hybrid. This idea = parallel hybrid. Here we are still driving the Jeep directly with an ICE but also driving it with an AC motor (through the transfer case, PTO, etc) that can regen/capture energy when braking. That way this captured energy can propel the vehicle and the ICE will have less to do when taking off after a stop/regen event. Obviously charging from the mains will help even more.
