Hi Scot D; I am working on a 3 wheeler for high mileage, but it sort of got sidetracked when l discovered (13 years too late) that there was such a thing as a Honda Insight 2000 mt that I am now trying to aim for 100MPG on 4 wheels.
My trike is a Chinese 300cc liquid cooled (they say Yamaha based) engine, with typical V belt transmission. I replaced the 19 tooth final drive sprocket with a 29 tooth which gave a 50% overdrive. For enclosing it, the body is made of .063" aluminum and Lexan. The shape is a symetrical vertical super fat airfoil. 2 things wrong are its 1 wheel in front and 2 in back, and auto transmission. When I started on the project over a year ago, I did not know that I would have the insight.
