I can see more than 180 degrees behind my car all at once, without moving anything.

I paid retail for the two cameras and two monitors of about $150 or so, including shipping. The stock mirrors (with remote power adjustment, no turn signal or heating) cost about $270 each. If I didn't need to put the optical mirrors on for a safety inspection, I could have sold them to pay for the video mirrors.

All losses matter. Why are we worried about which one is more important? The law should be changed to allow video mirrors, and if you want to keep using optical mirrors, that's fine, too.
