Yea the failsafe on the fords is if the ecu sees above 4.5 volts from the signal side of say the tps or map, the ecu will cut the injectors just enough to shut the engine down but still show noid. This I very useful info in diagnosing ford no starts of that vintage. It will have noid, spark, good fuel pressure but won't start unless you introduce Gas down the intake. Then it's either fuel volume/quality or a sensor. In which case I start unplugging sensors one at a time and see if it starts. Or you could manually ground a couple injectors while a buddy cranks it.
