I did some rough math. You'd save $60 a year (15,000 miles, $3.50/gal) if you increased her mileage by 5% (40/45 stock). $160/year by 10%.
Is it worth the trouble to get her to drive better for $60 a year? I am not saying you shouldn't try, but this isn't as drastic as trying to convince her to sell a 15 mpg Suburban for a 42 mpg hybrid.
You could always try to convince her that slower is safer??
