The nose helps aerodynamically by lowering the stagnation point and allowing the installation of an adjustable grill block. It has no effect on the frontal area and improves safety by adding a foot of additional crush space to the front of the car. The bottom of the nose is the forward part of the smooth under paneling under the car. The absence of a flat front bumper also means there are no dead bugs to clean off the front of the car.
