The Walmart pans are not aluminum. Mine rusted and I cleaned and painted them. They are made in the USA. Would you want to cook on bare aluminum and eat that food? Most of the (if not all) aluminum cookware has a non slip coating. I guess it would be OK if your doctor wanted you to ingest aluminum oxide.
