Just an update, I had an oil leak which caused me to tear down the timing belt side of the motor which allowed me to see that I had previously set the timing belt one tooth off from correct alignment. I fixed this and reset the distributor timing and now i am reguarly running around 47-50 MPG on my daily commute and well above 50 almost 60 MPG on long trips
I also touched up some rust and replaced the exhaust
