If your model is of the car I think it is, it's a beautiful design, one I would be weary of altering the exterior significantly.

In my opinion the traditional route in this forum of doing front grille blocks and under belly pans is the way you should go.

Perhaps the wide sporty tires the Alfa Romeo 159 runs could be substituted with something narrower to reduce the frontal area, and less sticky to improve mpg.
