Crash between a mid-sized SUV (By our standards) and a Civic: It's a test of "compatibility issues" large cars and suvs vs smaller cars. Even identical cars that have difference in ride height thanks to a heavier load.

More stunning then you think. Side impact..

And that is all too common. I've seen Accords tossed 30-40 feet from the point of impact when t-boned by a Tahoe. Tahoe was comming down off the freeway, to the intersection. Aparently the Accord ran the light and the Tahoe hit at near freeway speeds (50 mph is common at that light on the feeder).

The Tahoe faired very well, no damage beyond the firewall into the cabin. The accord was shoved with it's side in the middle of the car now, down in the retention pond (empty at that time) some 30-40 feet away.

"All I know about music is that not many people ever really hear it. [...] But the man who creates the music is hearing something else, is dealing with the roar rising from the void and imposing order on it as it hits the air. What is evoked in him, then, is of another order, more terrible because it has no words, and triumphant, too, for the same reason. And his triumph, when he triumphs, is ours." -Sonny's Blues
