I'd do it again, officer! It was quite a trip, and I learned a hell of a lot about how cars work. I might buy a complete shell that has paneling in it, and make sure to use rubber dampers in every motor mount. 2 of 3 motor mounts are direct to the frame (btw the engine is still removable and there were certainly no direct welds to the block or trans), so it's a little louder than the damn-near silence most people are used to now, including me. It's still great fun to drive, and certainly not a noise box. It's a pared down point A to B mileage machine, just a little rough around the edges. I'd liken it to Linux: You have to know what's going on to appreciate it, otherwise you'd probably hate it because it doesn't afford the creature comforts most people are used to now. If you are a Linux user, you should probably buy this car.
