Finally got my relay in. Its a 5 pin and I used the nc terminal so when there is no power going to it the wires are connected.

Here is how I wired it up this time. I used a lighted switch in the dash so if my wife drives the car I can turn it off so she doesn't accidently kill the car.

Cut the yel/blk wire and put one end on terminal 30 and the other on 87a
Wire 85 to ground
Wire 86 to one end of your momentary switch
Wire the other end of your momentary switch to the load positive of the lighted switch
positive on lighted switch to fused positive
Ground on lighted switch to ground

see my lovely drawing if that helps at all
(numbers on relay may be different for different brands)

When the power is sent to the relay it powers the electromagnet which moves the contact from on terminal to the other. So when the switch is off( no power) the normaly closed terminal are connected when power is sent it breaks the connection which kills the car.

If I have any problems with either switch the car will still run.

Another interesting fact about the civic hybrid is that when you come to a stop and it doesn't autostop you can force it by putting it in 5th gear and letting the clutch out to kill the engine then when you press the clutch back in and put it in 1st it will restart automatically. Prolly not good on the clutch tho.
