I get my sticky back Velcro from Walmart. It's a little pack containing several pieces about 2 by 3 inches.

Part of my issue with sticky back velcro may also be due to the weight of the Nook Color vs the Scangauge. Think it may be too heavy without enough surface area that I can attach the velcro to and have it compensate accordingly.
