I like the idea of getting the oil tested. modern cars demand synthetic oil. setting aside warrantee concerns later in life that would be a significant cost savings.
For my truck using a GM filter and Mobil 1 oil that is on sale 6 quarts at 8.59 each. it cost me over 78 dollars to carry out that change. If I could spend 35 dollars to save 43 right on.
I wonder how much it costs here and where I could take a sample. I am get close to 16000 kms on my car using 0w -20 full synth.
