Hi, i have a 2003 honda civic si(ep3). It has the 2.0l k20a3 engine with the eco version of i-vtec. I have been getting 32-34 mpg with it with an epa overall rating of 25mpg. I was getting 22mpg because of a camshaft issue, fixed that and adjusted the valves and now i am getting 32-34. I plan on adding a 6th gear from the acura version of my trans because right now i cruise at 3500rpms at 65mph
but that will fix that with a parts cost around 350 bucks. I will do that after it's paid off and out of warranty. right now i have iridium plugs, drop in k&n, shift at 3000 rpms(tried 2150 to shift before vtec, but it backfired as there wasn't enough power and consumed more gas lugging than it does shifting at 3000rpms), i coast down hills and to stops, and when i go to see my family and friends 25miles away i have started takingback roads and doing 40mph which puts me cruising at 2100 rpms(out of vtec on 3 valves)so the mpgs should be even better(will know at next fill up on~sunday). Hope i can learn and share from the site. Any one with suggestions feel free to share. I used to have a 95 metro 1.3 5 speed that i was getting about 42-45mpgs out of, but then the frame broke at the front pass nuckle(factory defect). That was a sad day. I also ride a 93 honda elite 80 scooter and get 70-85 mpgs depending if my gf is on it with me or not. She has a 05 metropolitan 50cc and gets 100mpg!
