Japanese battery power company, Power Plus has a new battery for automotive and rechargeable use, the Ryden or dual-carbon battery. Their claim is 20 times faster charging compared to regular lithium ion batteries! Charging and use does not emit residual heat, requires no additional cooling systems and eliminates collision fire hazard while keeping competitive production costs. The battery is completely different, it is not made with nickel, cobalt or manganese - it is made with carbon. An organic compound sourced from cotton fibers is also easily recyclable. The battery can be fully discharged without degradation and have a reliable 3,000 charge/discharge cycles lifespan. They already have applications in aerospace and medical industries. They seek to license the technology to other companies to produce the expected huge demand. We hope so.
