The fact that it can be done is cool, but it seems pretty useless for the average passenger car. As useless as I think TPMS is, at least it could actually be useful to the average person who doesn't check anything on their car. The average car needs new tires maybe every 4-6 years depending on the tires and distance traveled. Chances are, even if the owner doesn't realize their tires need replaced, someone at the dealer, quick lube, or inspection shop will notify them.
