A tire on the back side of my car is 3/8 inch higher to the rim from the floor than the same side tire on the front, which seems like quite a big difference. I've not checked the other side, but all tires were purchased at the same time and same brand, which demonstrates there can be major differences in the tires. A tire on another car is all crinkled on the sidewall, has been that way since new a few years ago, and has posed no problems.
