Well if you are to look at the letter of the law yes. It's a hybrid car and therefore can use hybrid parking. I know we make fun of making a car like that a hybrid and how most people who drive them don't make use of that fact but look at it this way say you have a few kids so you can't just buy a 5 seater car you have to get something with more seats. Your only options then are either a van or an SUV if you want slightly better gas mileage for whatever reason you would appreciate the hybrid option.

I get that most people out there don't buy it for the reason someone on here would but there may be a few that did. Is it fair to say that they should have bought a car that doesn't fit there needs just because it "makes more sense" as a hybrid?

You could look at it from the principle of it and say that only cars that get 50+ mpg can park there but that's pretty hard to enforce.

Or you could not really worry about it cause it doesn't make a big difference in the big picture.
