I used to own a 73 F350 that I mounted a lift (not the hydraulics) on the back and made it a car hauler. People would borrow it and bring it back with the tank empty and after I ran out of gas driving 2 miles to the nearest station, I disconnected the sending unit, tank was behind the drivers seat inside the cab! Never had a problem after that. Bought the cab-chassis brand new for $3600.
