A 1969 1.4L was my first car, and it was awesome. I survived the deathtrap, and I only drove with full throttle or full brakes (rolled it once on a gravel road).
Easy to work on, unfortunately this is likely because the engineers knew you would often have to work on it. I'm too lazy for constant valve adjustments.
