Motorcycles are 'tall' compared to their width.Airfoil sections might serve as a better 'Template' than the Aerodynamic Streamlining Template.
The following table I was posted in the Motorcycle Forum awhile back for Craig Vetter's fairing discussion.
From Koenig-Fachsenfeld/Kamm research at the FKFS,they found that if you want to truncate a wing section,you don't want to chop of its tail as we do with a body of revolution.Go ahead and pull the sides into the steeper profile,all the way to a point.
Try and stay as close to the section of lowest drag (center image)
