Not if I did it, and I don't. It's not completely engaging the clutch, just enough friction to spin the crankshaft around 5 revolutions, or even less, for the engine to start. When perfected practically imperceptible to the passenger.
In a normal acceleration event you are launching a 1.5 ton vehicle from a standstill, and some people have no idea how to do it right. Try it without touching the gas pedal and you will learn friction points and how to drive a clutch so it can last the life of the car.
