+1 on cargo room. Even though my car is rarely the one called upon for family duty, I do moonlight as a property manager and a couple of times per year I make a run to the scrap yard with 300lbs of awkwardly shaped junk. Usually the trunk has a full load out of aluminum cans, so the short iron goes in the back and passenger seats. The property manager stuff sometimes calls for the use of a truck, at which time I borrow my Dad's F150, but most of the time the Echo will handle it. Very versatile for a notchback. An SUV or pickup would be too much. If I got something with more room, I'd rather it be passenger space convertible to cargo space when needed, a la Mazda5 or minivan.
