I bought an '05 LS sedan from new up here in Canada. It's even better when you start modding it. Just lookup 05ls here on ecomodder. Lots of aftermarket through the Pontiac G6. I've had the ECM tuned for 91 octane with no ethanol. I have headers, catback, brembo brakes w/ Akebono pads, Monroe air suspension in the back from '90 Aerostar, and a bunch of other mods. There's also a carbon fiber hood and trunk available.
For its time and even now, how many vehicles have telescopic wheel & pedals at this price point? How many have real time instrumentation on efficiency/range? How many have the cargo and passenger volume this thing has?
I would disagree with getting the 4 cylinder. To get all the safety stuff you have to basically get the lx9 3.5L. The final drive ratio on the ecotec is shorter too so not as great on the road.
My summary would be sleeper. It also doesn't draw any attention which is cool.
