Sorry, I'd forgotten about this thread.

My car's transmission is manual. 60 MPH in top gear has the engine turning at 3000 RPM which seems pretty high but the engine is small.

Great info. What are your Probe's mileage ratings and what are you getting now?

I reckon I'll start with weight reduction (back seats) then try blocking the grill. Luckily I cycle almost everywhere but next week I'm making a 250 mile trip which will give me a good baseline MPG.
