I, for one, am not saying that. All your examples point up, countering lift, not back like the P-51, countering drag.

If you want an example of high-efficiency internal cooling, look to the Edison2. The intake (or exhaust, I forget) is a thin belt around the widest circumference of the body—where the air is moving the fastest.
