EDIT: Here's my 2nd attempt to make sense of my confusion:
This is for 208Vac (phase to phase) 3 phase:
If you have a battery pack of 293VDC, you get a phase to phase voltage peak of 293v, which makes for a RMS voltage from phase to phase of 208VAC.
Let's say you have a path on 2 of the 3 half bridges like this:
The lower left IGBT must block the whole dang 293Vdc. And so does the poor upper right IGBT. OK! It's more like 292v due to the voltage drop across the IGBTs! haha.
