PS I have comparisons of some of the other cars mentioned,but they're not scanned yet.I'll get that done when back from the trip.
There is a very good video of a Dodge Daytona on You-Tube from the AeroDyn tunnel at Mooresville,N.C..In it you can see the separation bubble over the backlight with the smoke wand,and then reattachment at the boot.
The race Daytona achieved Cd 0.28,really good for 1968.
R.G.S.White did not publish his Cd 0.245 car 'recipe' until this time,and Hucho et al. did not publish about VW's aero detail optimization until the mid-70s.
As ChazInMt has mentioned,some of these car's forebodies were so dirty that they compromised aft-body flow tremendously.High lift and instability over 100 mph.
