Lol, think I figured it out.
Went to pull the first plug just to check the condition, and lo and behold it turned in my hand! Somebody had only finger tightened it!
I'm amazed it ran at all, since I found that all three plugs had only been hand tightened. They were matching OEM NGKs letter "B", which matched the stamped head, in excellent condition, so I cleaned them off, re-gapped and re-installed them and actually torqued them to specs . . . .
Cranked it up and it's smooth as butter, where it had previously idled a little shaky. Haven't road tested it yet, but I'm expecting awesome results!
